Easy peasy
The smell isn't so bad and it does an excellent job - even at an angle and upside down. Priming doesn't get any easier than this. I got this one, in particular, to use on drywall with extensive surface damage - so the patching compound wouldn't cause bubbling. It worked very well for this purpose and I used the rest to cover some dark colored wall art that would show through without it. Should have known it would be awesome, since it's Zinser. Always have had good luck with their primers!

If you're serious, THIS is your primer - at a price
I've done a lot of different painting jobs in 50 years. In some cases, any primer will do. But if you are serious about how you want your job to turn out -- or you're in difficulty covering stains, caulk, strange substrates -- this is the ticket. OIL-based. Seals like Fort Knox. I am never without this (spray) or the liquid equivalent. In the long run it just makes life easier. ONE WARNING: it's not cheap, and the can goes fast. Use the brushable liquid equivalent instead, if your project doesn't require spray paint.

Great coverage, blocks water stains on one coat
I had an appliance leak through the floor and make a nasty stain on the ceiling below (including damaging some of the plaster ceiling). This primer went on easily and evenly, dried fast, and blocks the water stain completely. I only needed one coat of ceiling paint on top of it and two weeks later, you would never even know there was water damage. Highly recommended (although hopefully I won't ever have to use it again)!

Great product for Interior and Exterior
I dislike the smell, even got yelled at by my family when using it Indoors but is perfect for outdoor use. Its a powerful product that will hide stains and keep out moister. This product is great for areas with alot of traffic or hard stains that are difficult to hide. Zinzer Cover Stain is great for doors that sustains a lot of water, like rain or shower splashes or for kids who don't wash their hands and leave a lot of stain on doors.

Be careful....Can't return this product if defective.
Ordered two cans. First one stopped spraying in a couple seconds. Remove the nozzle and replaced it with the others can's nozzle.....didn't help. 2nd can sprayed about 90% of it's contents before it too stopped. When it sprayed, it seemed to do a good job. While this is not a lot of money lost, it's disappointing. Yes, I will continue to use their products.....but not likely to either use or recommend their spray products. And yes....I have used countless cans of spray paints in the past. Good luck, Chuck

Shake it real good and spray. Use a continuous back & forth for even distribution and let dry.Took just minutes to dry.Mask up before using.

good primer
Works really well for painting MDF. In my case I filled and sanded several times, used a can of high build and sanded some more, and then three coats of this stuff. lots of work but a very nice outcome for my woodworking project
