Quality sunscreen
This face stick was easy to apply. Didn't run in our eyes. Worked very well. Only complaint was the stick is so tiny. We swim every day, so not sure how long it will last. But I was looking for a higher quality face sunscreen that stay on for a while. This is a good product.

The Holy Grail of Sunblock!!!
I've finally found it! As a surfer who gets way more than his fair share of sun exposure I have looked high and low for a product that will completely block out sun and stay on in the water. I really wanted the protection that a physical sunscreen like zinc oxide provides, but zinc is messy and comes off easily in warm water. When I was in Hawaii last year I was talking to a guy out in the water who looked like he had a makeup mask on his face. I asked him about it and he said it was a stick sunblock from Shiseido. He said it worked but that it was expensive. I looked into the Shiseido Sun Protection Stick Foundation Very Waterproof stick but was put off for a couple of reasons. First is the cost, which is twice what Watermans costs. Secondly is the color and texture. Covering your face with the Shiseido stick make you look like a Kabuki singer. So Watermans it was.I gave this product the acid test in Hawaii this summer. In very warm water with lots of waves the Watermans Face Stick stayed on and completely protected my skin. It was so good that after several days in the water I could see that the area where the Face Stick had been placed was noticeably lighter than unprotected skin. This stuff stays put! Even after wiping water from my face and touching where it was applied didn't seem to affect it. It can be mostly wiped off with a towel, but you really need soap and water to get it all off.Another thing I like about this stuff is the applicator. It's small enough to be carried in the pocket of my trunks, so it can be reapplied out in the water. I never needed to reapply it, but may need to on a longer surf trip to Nicaragua that I have coming up.Some people have commented that it didn't last long or that it didn't apply evenly. I didn't find that to be the case at all, at least not with the skin tone version. The color turns out to be a good match for the average white guy.

Goos sunscreen, bad packaging, bad chemicals
You have to spin The wheel on the bottom to make the stick come up, but after a few uses, the wheel broke and now I have to stick my finger down in there to get the sunscreen out.The sunscreen itself is good and seems to stick to your face more than any other brand I've used in the water. I surf for 2-3 hours and this stuff is still on my face when I get out. This product contains oxybenzone. Google that and you will see why you shouldn't use it.

Olympic Water Polo user
So my wife's sisters kid is in high school and is a top water polo player- Dominick Beaudine (GOOGLE HIM) [...] Last Christmas he wanted VERTRA SUNSCREEN. He said it's the best, stays on during their long exposure to the sun. I did some research and discovered WATERMANS. I read some reviews from surfers and they couldn't say but amazing things about the product. I remember one guy saying "when the water sports community discovers WATERMANS the price will for sure go down". Well I took a chance and got him WATERMANS face stick 55 SPF and also the 55SPF loation/ cream. it cost me $60 for the 2 items last year. This year I asked if he wanted more of the WATERMANS for XMAS or go back to VERTRA? He said this WATERMANS was the great and lasted almost the entire year. so This year I purchased the same WATERMANS items and the price for sure has gone down. Last year it was about $60 for the 2 items and this year I spend about $35. Basically those who are not sure what one to go with... WATERMANS seems to be the better choice for these waterpolo players. So if you know anyone who is in the sun/ water for long durations (vollyball, swimming, surfing etc), its a guaranteed good buy

This sunscreen is the size of my thumb. No kidding. I should have looked at the size. I hope it works like a miracle (haven't gone surfing yet) or it's the worst rip off ever.

Save your face!
Great product. Stays on well in the surf. Doesn't cause zits. I just don't like the dispenser, it's not possible to "roll" the stick all the way out when it gets near the bottom, so you end up throwing the last usable bit away because it's inaccessible.

Meh...
It feels good to put on but is difficult to smooth out....It also contains a large amount of parabens even though it says it doesn't....YIKES

does the job but not for the vain in public places!
as a person with hyper pigmentation, who loves outdoor swimming, would love, if did not leave a thick opaque film on face - can only wear if alone like in private pool or on deserted beaches- -looks like a ski mask on!
