delicious and pre-portioned variety pack!
this package contains 4 flavors of furikake and i love the variety! the shipping was super fast too! i'm definitely going to purchase againmy japanese is really rusty, but the flavors in the package are tamago (egg), sake (salmon), okaka (bonito), and yasai (vegetables). each are color too which helps!egg= yellowsalmon= redbonito= bluevegetable= greento use the furikake packets, sprinkle over warm rice and then eat! i recommend using 1/3 cup of rice per packet for maximum flavor, but you could use less rice if you want it less potent. overall it has a pretty salty flavor, with the bonito furikake in the blue trimmed packet tasting the most pungent. since the target audience of this particular furikake is mostly children, the flavor is milder than most, and a great into to furikake if you're scared of very strong flavors. i would very highly recommend it.a fun way to eat the furikake is mixed into short grain rice and then formed into onigiri. rice balls are nice because they can be eaten while on the go! if you watched sailor moon as a kid, you may have always wanted to try makoto's onigiri or lita's "muffins".now is your chance!

Savory - not sugary
I’ve bought furikake before, but I always struggled to enjoy it because it was so sweet. The sukiyaki flavor, in particular, tasted like candy. Beef candy...shudder. However, this one is savory with only enough sweetness to mellow the overall taste. Absolutely delicious and the perfect solution for those days when you just don’t feel like cooking and want something quick...or even as a compliment to a meal. Will be getting a few more packs right after this review.

but I absolutely loved this when I worked in Tokyo
Oishii (delicious)! I know that in Japan, these are mainly for kids (grown-ups are expected to take their rice plain), but I absolutely loved this when I worked in Tokyo, and enjoyed it in secret. So glad I can get it here, too! I am currently introducing my whole family to the delights of furikake, and they are a great success (I mean the furikake assortment, not so much the family). If you haven't tried furikake, it's a small packet of highly seasoned (that is, flavorful, not spicy at all) tiny bits of dried seaweed, sesame seeds, and other items I can't quite identify. When sprinkled over rice, they form a crispy, toasty crust that is utterly delightful. You should treat yourself and order this assortment.

Gotta eat 'em all! Seriously though, buy these
LOVE THESE.Firstly, the novelty of them. Each packet has two Pokemon on it, which is just cute and fun. You get stickers too, which is just even better. But the furikake itself is really good too. There's veggie (green), egg (yellow), salmon (pink), and tuna (blue). Each one has a great, distinct flavor. Honestly, if you held up a packet of seasoning with Pokemon on it, told me it really had a good salmon (or whatever flavor) on it and expected me to believe you...I'd look at you funny. But I'd also be wrong. The veggie and egg are my favorite but I love the salmon and tuna only ever so slightly less. These are a great addition to plain rice. Honestly don't eat them on preseasoned rice, because you're just wasting it.I'll buy these over and over and over again till I have Pokemon stickers covering my house and gained 800 lbs just from eating white rice.

Enjoyable and used daily over 🍚 rice
Living in Nippon (Japan) gave us first hand opportunity to try Furikake and you sprinkle over your rice 🍚, which is basic, though we also enjoy it on our sunny side up egg 🍳 or scrambled egg 🥚. Each bag has packs (maybe 20 packs) which is a generous serving per person. Sometimes we make our own “spam sushi w/egg strips” and we sprinkle a bit of Furikake, which we enjoy it!! It is a mixture of miniature nori strips, sesame seeds, and unsure what else is in each pack, but it is good!

Amazingly tasty and cute!
My wife and I are slowly eating our way through the different flavors. I was delighted to find that the green packages with the little chicken face on it have tiny, chicken sprinkles as a part of the topping!! The flavors are all delicious. Some taste a bit of fish, but that is to be expected. We are looking forward to our next "easy dinner night," where we just make some rice and sprinkle this on it!

Cute packing, strong flavors, but the fish may be a bit too strong
Four flavors: Yellow=egg, Pink=salmon, blue=bonito (skipjack tuna), green=vegetable. The flavors have a nice punch. The egg is the most mild and would be good for onigiri, and I personally love the vegetable. The salmon and bonito both have a very strong fishy taste to them, which if you like that it would be great, but for me it's far too strong and leaves a powerful aftertaste that lingers for quite a while.Adorable packaging and the individual size packing makes it perfect to include in your lunch.

Depends on your personal taste
Personally, I didnt enjoy it that much. This was my first time trying it after a long time of hearing about it in a lot of the Japanese media I watch. Maybe this isn't authentic furikake and the more traditional ones would be better. To me it was very fishy, all of them. I would say that's attributed to the nori flakes (especially in the tamago flavoured one). The beef wasnt as bad. The pink one (not sure of the flavour but it has a picture of a bento box) smelled like fish food on first inhale. Maybe try this small package first instead of the larger one, I'm happy I did. Also the texture on hot rice is a bit offputting to me due to the crunch of the little flakes/pieces. I think to sprinkle on top of sushi won't be as bad as plain rice, due to having under ingredients to complement the flavour. I think I'll try another brand before crossing it off my list however!
