I bought this for a White Elephant gift. Everyone thought it was booze because of the shape of the package and avoided it, and when it was finally opened, there were quite a few surprised exclamations. There are a lot of gardeners in my apt. complex so I thought it would be a perfect gift. I may just repeat it next year!

I gave it 4 stars because only 2 sets of seeds have started sprouting. (Planted about 1 mo ago) Will update later if that changes. Very nice box, easy to understand instructions. I recommend getting a few more small pots and planting the seeds 2-3/ cup.

It has been almost 1 month since I received/planted these trees. I let the seeds germinate in a wet paper towel for 24 hours before planting, and put them in the pots I received. We have LED lights at my work (I got it as a fun interactive decoration) and they grew so fast without a grow light! I was so amazed, I wasn’t expecting this much. The pinus has 6 sprouts that have come, the acacia has 1 good sprout, and a second one that just started over the weekend, and the jacaranda just started its first sprout. I haven’t had luck with the picea, but I am putting it back in the paper towel to try to let it germinate a little longer. I am leaving an outstanding review for this company. This is a great starter for anybody, especially those with small children (or adults who need some decoration in their office). The only “bad” thing I see in this kit is that the pot has cracked open for one of my plants, but I blame the plants for that one, not the pots. They’re designed to be biodegradable, which is perfect for an eco-friendly work environment!

All you need to start your bonsai hobby is included, dirt, seeds, pots, nifty container. Of the 4 pots of seeds, only 2 sprouted, and only 1 of those is still growing. I chalk that up to either malfunctioning seeds, or unfavorable climate. I have quite a collection of houseplants, so I believe I have a knack for growing stuff. Other than that, we’ll see in 20-30 years what became of this little seedling.

Bought it for my husband as a gift he was absolutely delighted packaging was amazing bright instructions were so clear thickness of the packaging perfect! I'm enjoying everyday watching my husband as he takes care of his bonsai trees he talks to them gives them the proper light turns on around each day like the instructions said so they don't grow unevenly it's a gift that will last continuously that's what I love the most about it!

What a waist of time and what a disappointment...no bonsais grew at all.

Very nice set to start your own bonsai garden. Also very giftable. I love the flower pots. Very nice box to store everything in and you can use it for whatever you want after you use all the items.

Two of the seed packets, did not grow at all. I followed all instructions and started out with 10 seeds each. I two types grow. I tried another ten of the other two. So a total of 40 seeds and got nothing. The ones that are didn’t sprout are jacaranda mimosifolia and picea Mariana. Any other suggestions on getting them to grow would be helpful?
