Another great pattern book from Isela!
This is one of my favorites! To the other reviewer who said that there were too many baby blankets, only 6 out of 20 are baby blankets. I don't think that's a crazy amount plus they're different, and once you're really good at loom knitting, I'm sure you can adjust the length and change the colors to make them something else...I noted that 4 out of 6 of the baby blankets suggest the Authentic Knitting Board All in One, 1 uses the AKB Super Afghan Loom, and 1 uses the Martha Stewart Loom. All the other blankets/throws/afghans use either the AKB All in One, AKB Super Afghan Loom, AKB 28" with peg extenders, and the martha stewart loom (one or two patterns not many with the martha stewart one).I really like this because I only have the Authentic Knitting Board looms, and I know that Isela works for them, so I'm sure that's why she uses them--definitely no problem with that at all!! :DI think Isela has really professional patterns, given her massive amount of experience. These are perfect for homemade gifts for anyone. They all look fun to make, and relatively straightforward to follow. The patterns are mostly words, but some have additional charts for cables, shapes, or letters.I'm going to start one of the baby blankets because, I'm in my 20's and a lot of my friends and cousins are having babies, so a lot of these would be so cute for them. I remember I had a few baby blankets growing up and the only ones that were my favorite were the handmade knitted/crocheted ones. This is a great addition to Isela's other pattern books, I would definitely add this to your collection! Brand new patterns on blankets and afghans that you'll love!

Very good.
I've been waiting for this book for a while, and even though it's not everything I hoped it would be, I'm not sorry. Like another reviewer mentioned, it's not really a beginner book, but I intend to take it in chunks and learn the stitch patterns and then keep going. My big goal is the entralac blanket. Someone else noted that it was mostly baby stuff, but you know, if you change the colours and make it bigger, most baby blankets can become big people blankets. I want that car seat blanket for my bed. Finally a knitted blanket that I only have to worry about cat claws on one side ;)The book loses 1/2 star each for two things. Nearly all the stitch diagrammes are shown on little round looms, long looms or even bigger round ones would be better. My second gripe is that there is only one pattern written for double knit. I will figure out how to do more of them on my boards.

This one is a favorite. This is the book you need if you ...
Challenge Accepted!I have many looms books. This one is a favorite. This is the book you need if you want to take your loom skills to an intermediate level. I've just begun the chevron throw and for me it's my first project with increasing and decreasing. I began with a swatch by knitting two repeats of the pattern on a smaller loom. Once I felt good about my work I casted on my Afghan loom :) I'm very happy with the results so far even though my color choices are ugly!! The important thing, I am learning.

Great book!
Isela’s books are the best. I own three of her books. Had them spiral bound so they are really easy to use while the book is in your lap, or whatever pretzel position you get yourself into while knitting. I’ve created all kinds of fun things from Isela’s books. Her instructions and patterns are so spot on they make beginners look talented. Thanks, Isela!

Great ideas but beware!
Great photos and very inspirational if you're looking for new projects. This isn't a book for beginners mostly because it needs a good editor! The thread requirements are not reliable. The only pattern I've worked so far is for a very simple afghan. (And it turned out this pattern was included with the KB super afghan loom!) The book says it requires 2800 yards of yarn (16 skeins) for a 52 x 56 in. afghan. The KB instructions say 1400 yards for a 40 x 60 in afghan. (FYI, I bought 10 skeins (1850 yds) and it's just barely enough.)The book has some incorrect page references. The instructions for at least one of the stitches don't make sense and the illustrations of the stitches aren't always paired with the right step of the instructions. The stitch illustrations are shown on small round looms instead of something you'd use for an afghan.

Not for beginners.
Very good book. It doesn’t have enough information for beginners. You need to have a good understanding of loom knitting.

good book with minor errors in the stitch patterns
The book has some very inspirational ideas and patterns. Isela is very talented. The book needs an extra step in the editing process though. She needs a couple of detail oriented people who are the skill level of her buyers to work her patterns and find little details and mistakes she overlooks. I have worked on 2 patterns and both had small errors in the instructions/ stitch pattern. For the Arab lapghan hourglass stitch pattern, the legend has the BCP stitch mislabeled as the FCP stitch and vice versa. The ripple lace throw has the wrong peg number on one line of the instructions. This can be confusing. Once I work a swatch and troubleshoot the issues, I am able to see the errors, correct them, and move forward.

WARNING: NOT for beginners
I've been loom knitting for a few months and know a number of stitches and have been working on several different projects. This book IS NOT for beginners (such as me). The designs are extremely complex and Isela DOES NOT show how to do many of these stitches. Instead, the book inserts the most basic stitches that beginners would know, but NONE of the complex stitches that they wouldn't know. It makes no sense.I really wanted to make some of these afghans, but honestly, some of the abbreviated stitches listed required me to look up youtube, other sites to figure out what's going on. Even then, it was hard to visualize and understand what's really going on.If you're an advanced knitter, I'm sure this book is great and offers a number of beautiful patterns.

Loom Knitting Afghans
I love the idea of being able to knit afghans on a loom without having to use knitting needles instead. This book is ideal in that it gives lots of great ideas and the instructions are very well illustrated.
