The Double Death of Quincas Water-Bray

Jorge Amado is one of my favorite writers, though I don't praise all of his works by any means. This one is great though; it is a madcap ride, full of humanity, love of life, (even after death), and told with exuberance and style. This is a short read, and certainly worthy of re-read, almost for a lesson on how to be a better writer. You'll have fun with this one, I'm sure.

This short, but absorbing novel makes me want to read more from this author. The new translation was outstanding, at least in the sense that the words flow beautifully. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
