Installed both this one and the AC model in our RV to keep an eye on power consumption and battery health. Now with just a glance I can tell if we have good shore power, how much we’re using, and at which rate we’re depleting the battery for those times we’re without shore power. Haven’t compared the accuracy with other measuring tools. I installed just above the RV power panel which sits just above the floor, and the displays are a little hard to read from that angle; I need to kneel down to read the display, but I didn’t want to have to run wires all through the RV to find a better location, so that’s fine, not like I spend my entire time staring at that. It’s true that there’s very little overhanging bezel and if installed flush-mount the hole would have to be quite precise, but I didn’t want to cut any holes so I just double-sided taped the monitors on the wall. Overall very satisfied, would buy again.

I love this thing. Easy to setup, the diagram is literally printed on the back of the unit.One caution I'd like to make clear, is install the power wires first. I installed the shunt, followed by the shunt resistance wires. After that I tried installing the power wires but kept getting zapped (48vdc). I disassembled it and installed the power wires first, followed by the measurement wires with no problems.Press the button to turn the backlight on and off. Hold the button to cycle through options, release the button on the setting you want to adjust.

The one thing i would change is to make it waterproof for much wider range of applications.This has replaced an old analogue volt gauge on my Motorino Xpr scooter, what a difference it makes in having all that information right there and totally forget about your rides range since now i`m actually able to enjoy my ride.Wish i had thought of doing this sooner. Had to do some outside of the box thinking to make it work and sort of make it waterproof, loose the whole case, replace the connector with soldered wire directly to it, makes for much cleaner install inside the dash display. Add stand offs long enough so if you wish to turn the back light off or use any other functions connected to the push button just press the on the glass .More than likely i have voided any warranty that it came with by installing it out of the original case however my personal opinion it looks custom made this way.Here is some pictures of the finished install.

I liked the unit until I discovered that it totally melted the shunt at an average usage of 50A, although it is classified at 100A.The 50A usages where peaks and maybe increased to 60A for short periodes but that should still have had plenty of tolerances.What a shame !!!

Having only one button for setup is tricky and a little confusing without manual, might have been nice to have two buttons, maybe one as a dedicated reset "usage" button. Might have been nice to have mounting screws built into face of device, or a mounting bracket for the rear when mounting in wooden frames. But it works as advertised, looking forward to improved battery management in our RV this summer.
