An Okay Model Depending On What Your Options Are.
Edited to Add: Since the down-voting army seems to have arrived, I'm assuming my review has some warning/helpful points.Whether you should go for this purifier depends on what your needs and restrictions are. We live in a small rented home that has no pipe provisions for fixing an electric purifier. So, a gravity based, small, standalone unit is our only option. And as far as that is concerned, this is a good option.Another plus is the ease of assembly and use. (Just read the instruction booklet first.) As far as the capacity of the purifier is concerned, I find it okay – First of all, it doesn’t take long to purify water. Secondly, you can go for the 23ltr model if you have larger family. And thirdly, you shouldn’t be storing water in plastic anyway, so better purify and then transfer to glass etc. bottles.About purified water quality – We get heavily chlorinated, hard water that will have scales floating around when you boil it (not to mention the marks on the vessel is used regularly only for boiling water.). The purifier does take care of it largely. As for those complaining about some water always retained in the lower chamber – that’s true. But you are not drinking stale water, if you will be using it regularly. Because, liquids mix 😉. If you have not been using it for some time, then better run it a couple of times and discard the water. Now for the problematic parts – The first time it was delivered, I noticed that there was a constant drip from the bottom of the transparent chamber from near the tap. There was a barely visible break in it. (Also, when I was repacking it, I found what seemed to me to be older drip marks/other faint marks. Looked like a returned product.) The second one that was delivered functioned fine for some days and then lo and behold, there came a dripping outflow of water, this time also from the transparent chamber. I found however, that this could be taken care of by tightening the part that is inside the chamber. So, the current one is working fine for me.It will also take several days for the ‘plastic’ taste to go away. The first few runs will yield water that taste quite bad/plastic-y due to the new parts. The build quality is not much to write home about. It is average, though I don’t know if you can expect anything better for the price. I wish there was a better built model, even if it was pricier.

The best for Bachelors at this price range
I have used several other purifiers and among all this one is my favorite. I got it at Rs. 1,699 on regular days. I was already aware of how to install it so it was just a piece of cake. You will need to clean this one before you use it so let water flow through it once and use the same water to clean it and then use it.OverallBuild quality: 4/5 (This is not very sturdy, it will break if you accidentally drop it for sure.)Design: 5/5 (It really looks cool, once the pure water is settled, it looks pretty clean inside the glass tank part)Installation: 5/5 (Simply follow the guide and you are good to go.)Working: 4/5 (It surely cleans the water as I have seen water becoming more clear, it doesn't change the taste though)Packaging: 5/5Delivery: 4/5Time to fill in pure water is around 30-40 min once you add 7-8 Ltr. It will give you around 1500 Ltr pure water through one kit. Good for Family of 3 if you are having drinking water already and need only cleaning a bit. For borewell water, I suggest you invest more and go for RO + UV which will cost 10 times more.Check the pics, nicely packed and promptly delivered. Although, delivery was by 7 PM but on very next day through prime.

Review of Pureit Classic 14L after 1 month of usage:Pros -1. Affordable2. Non electric (so no extra electricity bill)3. Compact4. Movable (can be moved easily)Cons -1. Fragile2. Cheap grade plastic3. Constant refilling required4. Assembly is a bit trickyThe total capacity of the purifier is 14L (top to bottom), so don't expect it to give 14L of water at any given time. I put water supplied by Corporation and the purifier does the job. Please follow the given picture. The purifier has 4 separate compartments and a lot of other parts which need to be assembled by following the instruction booklet. The trickiest part was to assemble compartments 2 & 3; regarding which is not properly mentioned in the booklet, rather I figured it myself and so managed it without damaging the unit. The carbon filter goes in compartment 1. 5 is the battery (indicator which shows when the filter parts need to be replaced). Looks wise the purifier is good but the design is not ergonomic. This is because, the water which is poured in compartment 1 gets filtered by the carbon trap and then travels through a pipe down to compartment 4, which then starts oozing from the bottom to compartment 3. Basically, water which is stored in compartment 4 is never being used and it remains there till you replace the parts or clean the purifier. Atleast, the designers could have placed the tap at the lowest point so that the water of compartment 4 could be utilized. Also, compartment 2 is empty. There is vacuum inside there. I don't know what the designers were thinking.Verdict - Suitable for nuclear family. At this price, a bang for buck !P.S. The 10 day returnable offer is a hoax. They never replace, rather give you a customer care number. I suggest to buy offline.

It leaks, bad product design :(
No wonder these units are mostly not available in most of the shops. All water purifier designs by HUL has this fundamental flaw of water leakage from the middle joint which connects the bottom and top container. I was using Amrit by Eureka since 5 years and wanted to give this one a try since I really liked the ‘visual indication’ telling that its time to buy new cartridge, etc. but leakage is the biggest dissappointment. In Amrit you can fill and leave water in top and bottom containers and there is no leakage. It connects so well. Design of HUL was good but functionality was terrible. I am back on Amrit and waiting for a better design in manual water purifiers.
