Schumacher Electric Digital Portable Power Station 1200-Amp Jump Starter

My truck ran out of juice in the middle of nowhere and luckily I had this device which jumpstarted my vehicle right away. I did not have to wait for roadside assistance and was able to get back on the road I a jiffy.

I bought this unit over a year ago at another retailer. It is the second portable jump starter I have ever owned. The first one was a different brand and for $66, was total junk. I decided to give the whole "portable jump starter" concept one more shot and spent roughly double for this Schumacher charger. And I'm glad I did. This charger is a beast. It has worked flawlessly on multiple occasions for my personal and work vehicles. One of it's nicest features is it's tire inflation function. You hook up the rubber "screw on" valve stem connector, set your desired PSI, and hit button with the TIRE symbol. It starts the compressor and it shows current tire pressure and increases as the tire fills. It stops when it gets to the desired PSI setting. No more running around having to check it every minute for over inflations. It's beautiful. And it inflates tires FAST. This charger is designed in the USA, but made in China. Like most things these days. So as awesome as it is, I have no idea how long the good times will last with this unit. So far, so good. Hopefully Schumacher will be encouraged to start making them here now. Also, it jump started my stone dead battery in my 2010 Chevy Equinox after only 3 minutes of being connected. This was after I hooked it up to my running Toyota Corolla and it would barely click the starter after 20 minutes of charging while reving it every few minutes! Overall, I DO love this power source. It also has Apple & Android USB charging ports. Sold!

I bought this as a portable power station to charge my power hungry MacBook Pro while out and about in the woods. I needed something that would keep me powered outdoors while editing and uploading videos. This thing is a beast. One full charge yielded 5 charging sessions of my laptop, phone and camera AND filled up a low tire while out in the middle of nowhere. I have not used it to charge my vehicle, but I love it that I have the capability to do so. This thing allows me to have an independent power supply no matter where I am at and in the event of a power outage, as well. Cool!

it's very sad when a company has a great product and discontinues it for absolutely no good reason. This is just another casualty in a long line of great products over the years that get discontinued for no good reason. I suggest getting one of these on ebay while they are still available. This is the best tire inflator I have ever owned. Just works and the screw on nozzle stem is the most reliable ever.

I have been searching for a portable power supply for 6 months. Thankfully I found this one at a WM store for somewhat less then Amazon suppliers are charging. From a cost to value point, it is high on the value side. Well made, and with several user friendly features. Amazingly light weight compared to the one it replaced. I selected this one which is a well known brand name. Too many out there, I have no idea of name or quality. Like the other it will prove useful when we lose power and on camping/off road trips.
