So I use this to hold water and ice I filled the centerpiece with ice and then added some ice and water to the main piece as well so it was extra chilled when I went to close the lid you have to be very delicate with it and that there's a certain groove or Ridge that it fits into to lock it however as the ice started to melt it became lighter and more buoyant than the liquid in the container and so it was more or less forcing the cap and lid to float and remove itself from the base which was very frustrating we thought about taking the center cone piece out but then it would be hard to keep it chilled so I ended up returning it I'm a little bit disappointed cuz I honestly thought this was a good price point but they need a better mechanism to keep the lid down

I ordered 3 of these for my daughter’s wedding. Used them for iced water, plantation iced tea and fruit punch. They looked great and worked well. They do sweat onto the tablecloth but I bought the round table cloths from Amazon that were waterproof. Water pooled onto the tablecloth was easily wiped away. Table cloth remained dry.
